Chiranjeevi lock horns with Congress
Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi said any further attacks on the film industry will force the industry to shift its base once again to Chennai.
Chiranjeevi expressed grave concern at the attacks after his meeting with the Union Home Minister Chidambaram in New Delhi.
He said that he had apprised the home minister of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and the widening rift among Telugu-speaking people based on regional lines.
Meanwhile, the APCC president D Srinivas came down heavily on Chiranjeevi for raking up the issue of the Andhra Pradesh film industry shifting its operations to Chennai in the wake of attacks on film shooting crews and the ensuing violence on film sets.
“People owning film studios and other prime film-related infrastructure have told me that they were not going anywhere. All news about the film industry planning to shift to Chennai has been raked up by the PR chief.
Chiranjeevi does not even own a studio or film infrastructure in Hyderabad. How can he speak on behalf of the film industry?” he questioned.
